Note, the President of the Regional Council of Dentistry of Mato Grosso, the surgeon dentist Dalter Silva Favarete, expressed his disgust with Skol beer derogatory publicity campaign “Walk on holiday Skol in hand” which shows a dentist in his Office without proper personal protective equipment during service and also barefoot preparing barbecue and ingesting beer while performing a procedure.
The Council, in the note, informs that propaganda work against the efforts that the responsible bodies are in the awareness of healthcare professionals and the population of the “need for compliance with the minimum requirements of hygiene and cleanliness in attendances” and also in combating “professionals who did not play its role properly, in disregard of the rules and relevant laws”.
The National Council-CONAR Autoregulation opened ethical process after withdrawal of professionals and will analyze the advertising in question and, in brief, shall submit the result.
Check out the note of disgust in their entirety:
“The Regional Council of dentistry in the State of Mato Grosso comes to repudiate the propaganda broadcast by the public Company of beverages Americas (Ambev), for dissemination of the beer SKOL,” Walk in “hand, Holiday Skol broadcast in various media, in particular television, where is used the figure of a surgeon-Dentist in view of a patient, without compliance with the minimum requirements of hygiene and cleanliness requiredas well as compliance with laws, regulations, and procedures in dentistry, thus denigrating the image of the dental professional.
The dental professional must observe stringent hygiene and cleaning procedures, and regulatory policies, standards and protocols of shapes and attendances to patients, being forbidden to play their role under the conditions provided in the advertisement, because if so you will be able to respond to civil and administrative processes, criminal, as the case may be.
Stressed that, as a public health profession, great has been the efforts of this and all boards of dentistry, as well as public authorities, to educate professionals and the public of the need for compliance with the minimum requirements of hygiene and cleanliness in attendances, as well as the adoption of good practice of dentistry, in addition, unceasinglycombat professionals who did not play its role properly, contrary to the relevant regulations and legislation.
Serving such propaganda hurts, seriously, all the efforts that have been undertaken to combat professionals who do not comply with the existing standards and laws, as well as all awareness-raising of the population, thus encouraging disrespect the rules and laws of dentistry, in a real demonstration of professional neglect and consequently jeopardizing the health of the population ”
